3rd Annual Little Giraffe Foundation Gala Raises $35,000 for NICU Patients
A big thanks go out to the Little Giraffe Foundation board, volunteers, and all their guests for making last week's 3rd Annual Night for the NICU our most successful fundraising event to date. The event helped raise for more than $35,000 for patents and their families in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Proceeds will directly go to our gift bag programs (six times each year) as well as our NICU Support Grant and Medical Research Grant programs which will be decided in our fall board meeting.
At the event, someone who had twin preemies in the NICU shared their story with us. She said, "When a baby is separated at birth from their parents it's a traumatic event. There's nothing natural about the NICU. That hope you bring to parents is more important than you know. It meant a great deal to receive a gift from you."
Thanks to a donor who wished to remain anonymous we raised our largest amount yet. Attendees were encouraged to "sponsor" one of our hospitals and our donor offered to match any hospital sponsors that evening, up to $10,000. Guests were extremely generous and will allow us to fund expanded hospital donations and grants this year.
We are so proud to have helped raise so much for this vulnerable group and did it while everyone had a ton of fun. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible. It is undoubtedly a ton of work to put on this event each year, but each year after it's over we know it's worth it!
Enjoy the pictures below and if you'd still like to sponsor one of our hospitals you can donate online or email us for more information.
